Hello!
My name is Meghan Colovos. Thank you for stopping by! I am an American Filmmaker, and a 2026 graduate from George Mason University. I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Film and Video Studies, with a concentration in Directing, and a Minor in English.
I have experience in Film Marketing, Writing, Directing, Production Design, and Costuming. I was a Film Research and Marketing Assistant for two years, and I’ve completed an internship in Prague, Czech Republic where I worked for a Film Production & Distribution company called Bontonfilm.
I am looking to make films that shift the expectations of cinema. I believe in flexibility to enhance my films as I go, and working with others has fueled my passion for filmmaking. I like to be surprised and explore different avenues that I can take my films down, and in this exploration, I uncover worlds where my stories live, ones that are mystical and full of magic. As a curator of unique visual experiences, I like to push boundaries within my filmmaking and storytelling, redefining the expectations surrounding cinema. My work extends from Writing & Directing into Production Design & Costuming, enhancing the magic in my work.
I grew up in central Florida, and I was always inspired by things that were mystical, wondrous, and beautiful. I am drawn to stories that are heartfelt, that make you think, and invite you into magical worlds. My work reflects on and is inspired by real, human emotions. I take these real, and often raw, emotions and channel them into elegant and bold visual experiences. In this process, I aim to showcase the duality of human emotions: how experiences can be both emotionally demanding and how there is still beauty within and silver linings to be found.
My process in filmmaking is entirely hands-on and collaborative. For Production Design & Costume elements, I am committed to sourcing things secondhand and using items I already own. There is wonder and charm in things that already exist, and I love giving items second homes within the worlds where my stories live.
